We have a vacancy for a Senior Musician or Musician/Teacher (Woodwind: Flute or Clarinet) within our team in Big Noise Douglas, Dundee. At Big Noise Douglas, you will be part of a team who work with children from pre-school, primary school, secondary school and adults. The team are creative in designing and introducing new ways of learning as we use the orchestra to grow children’s confidence, respect, aspiration, drive and understanding. We are currently offering Flute and Clarinet to the Wind band participants. As a Senior Musician/Teacher you will support the Head of Centre by contributing to the shaping of our work in the Douglas community by demonstrating best practice in musical delivery, leading on trips and events, and responsibility for one of the following portfolio areas: learning & teaching, youth voice, priority families, pathways or community engagement. As part of the team, you will develop innovative ways to engage children and families, including home visits and community performances. This includes instrumental lessons, general musicianship sessions, and group teaching in our afterschool programme, as well as home visits and community performances. You will also provide leadership and support for Big Noise Musicians, enabling them to deliver the best outcomes for the children, young people and community members in the programme. You will have experience and success in taking on leadership roles and responsibilities, along with experience of problem solving and working in a dynamic/fast moving environment.
