Japan Jazz Pop Piano Competition (JJPPC) is an international piano competition based in Tokyo, Japan, dedicated to jazz, pop, improvisation, arrangement and creative piano performance. The competition welcomes pianists of different ages and musical backgrounds, including classically trained pianists interested in exploring jazz, popular music, improvisation and new forms of creative piano performance. JJPPC aims to encourage individuality, creativity and musical expression beyond the traditional boundaries of piano competitions. Participants can take part in divisions designed for performers, creators and pianists with different musical specializations and levels of experience. From 2027, JJPPC plans to introduce online participation, opening the competition to pianists worldwide while continuing its activities in Tokyo.
