The Boston Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1881 and recognized as a world-class orchestra, is accepting applications for two Section Violin positions. The audition process requires submission of a résumé by July 20, 2026, with live auditions scheduled for October 5–6, 2026. Candidates will be evaluated on repertoire specified in the supplemental recording repertoire and live round repertoire lists provided. Employment will begin as soon as the winner's availability and the Boston Symphony Orchestra schedule allow. Should a position be won by a current BSO member, any resulting vacancy may be offered to the runner-up. The Audition Committee reserves the right to dismiss immediately any candidate not meeting the highest professional standards. Base weekly salary is $3,915 (effective August 25, 2025), plus additional variable compensation. The organization is an equal opportunity employer.
