The Teatro alla Scala Foundation is holding an international public competition for the position of Principal Bassoon with duty of second, third bassoon and following. This is a permanent position at La Scala orchestra in Milan. The principal bassoon position carries additional responsibilities for second and third bassoon sections as well as other related duties. The audition and examination process will run from 15 July 2026 to 25 October 2026. Candidates must complete a competition application form and prepare specified orchestral excerpts for evaluation.
