Iceland Symphony Orchestra announces an open position of Co-Principal Horn. An audition will take place on October 19, 2026, at Harpa Concert Hall, Reykjavík. The audition will begin at 1:00 p.m. Application deadline: October 5, 2026. A formal application form is not required; applications can be submitted by sending an email, along with CV and copies of relevant diplomas/certificates, to the Human Resources Director at starf@sinfonia.is. Solo works W. A. Mozart – Horn Concerto No. 4 in E-flat major, K. 495, first movement with cadenza. Richard Strauss – Horn Concerto No. 1, Op. 11, first movement. The ISO horn section consists of five members. A university-level education in instrumental performance is required. Salary is determined by the collective agreement between the Iceland Symphony Orchestra Players' Association and the Ministry of Finance. Applicants from outside the EEA are required to obtain a work permit, which is subject to approval by the Association of Icelandic Musicians (FÍH) and the Directorate of Immigration.
