Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 5 July 2026
These Terms & Conditions ('Terms') govern your use of ClassicalBoard.info (the 'Site', 'Classical Board', 'we', 'us'), an independently operated platform for the classical music profession, based in the United Kingdom. By accessing or using the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.
1. Who we are
Classical Board is an online noticeboard for the classical music profession, connecting orchestras, conservatoires, competition organisers, instrument dealers, and individual musicians. We provide the platform on which listings are published; we are not a party to, and accept no responsibility for, any engagement, transaction, application, or agreement made between users.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate, current information when registering and when submitting a listing.
3. Listings and moderation
All listings submitted to the Site are reviewed by our team before publication and may be edited, rejected, or removed at our discretion, including after publication, if we reasonably believe a listing is inaccurate, misleading, fraudulent, unlawful, or in breach of these Terms. Publishing a listing does not guarantee it will remain live for any minimum period. Listings with a stated closing or application deadline are automatically marked as closed once that date has passed.
4. Your content and conduct
You retain ownership of the text, images, and documents you upload, but you grant Classical Board a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content for the purpose of operating and promoting the Site. You confirm that you own or have the necessary rights to everything you submit, and that it does not infringe any third party's rights. You must not use the Site to post false, defamatory, discriminatory, or unlawful content, to impersonate another person or organisation, or to attempt to circumvent our moderation, security, or storage systems.
5. Fees
Browsing and publishing listings on the Site is currently free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce fees for certain features in the future, with reasonable advance notice to users.
6. Third-party links and content
The Site may contain links to third-party websites (including organisers' own sites, competition registration pages, and news sources) and content aggregated from third-party news feeds for informational purposes. We do not control and are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party site, and inclusion of a link does not imply our endorsement.
7. Disclaimers
The Site is provided on an 'as is' and 'as available' basis. While we moderate listings in good faith, we do not verify every factual claim made by publishers and cannot guarantee that any listing is accurate, complete, or currently available. You are responsible for carrying out your own due diligence — including verifying an organiser's identity, a competition's judging process, or an employer's legitimacy — before applying, paying a fee, or entering into any arrangement with a third party found through the Site.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Classical Board excludes all liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of the Site or reliance on any listing, including indirect or consequential loss, loss of income, or loss of opportunity. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account, or remove any listing, at any time and without notice if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or applicable law.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the revised Terms on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, save that consumers resident elsewhere in the UK may bring proceedings in their own local courts.
12. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent via our Contact page.
